The Stamford Canal sale - Lots 1 to 10

Some of the lot sizes seem to have been an attempt to chop it up into similar lengths - so that an average price could be determined for the benefit of those further down the sale list of the parts of the canal!

The text of the Auction advert is available (and is shown in italics) but the original map hasn’t been found; so each lot has been shown with the relevant section for sale, yard by yard.

 Lot 1    from east of the Hudd’s Mill lock to the River Gwash

 Lot 2    from the River Gwash to the Barnack Road bridge 

 Lot 3    from the Barnack Road bridge to the Copthill bend

 Lot 4    from the Copthill bend 245 yards, including lock 4 

 Lots 5 to 10    Five lengths of 100 yards & one of 160 yards
