Stamford

From the Town Bridge in Stamford to just beyond Copthill Farm the route and original facilities could be recreated without much problem.

The original head of navigation was the Town Bridge which is where the wharf on the town side was before Burghley House had their wharf on the other side (but that could change as moorings would need to be provided).

Following the river course to Hudd’s Mill. the original lock is still there but would need emptying of garden refuse.

Behind the new build of a rest home and houses, the bed of the canal needs restoring along past the cricket ground to the River Gwash weir.
