Water Flush

The pump sometimes needs cleaning or changing. I found the pink scented fluid had hardened in the tank when it dried out over winter and the pump was sucking in flakes of it when I refilled it. Two tips; either mix it externally or put some water in first, then the fluid then top up the water to mix it.  I had used cheap pink fluid so that might have caused the problem!

To improve visibility, unlock the water inlet and remove the 4 screws before pulling the filler inlet off. Drain the flush tank by removing the rubber bung in the top of the toilet cassette external compartment. To get at the pump needs two table knives to be inserted in the top of the flush tank either side of the push button. Gentle pressure downwards slowly lifts the button panel until you can ease it off vertically with your fingers. Four screws hold the next frame on which needs unclipping. By reaching inside and unplugging the right hand pipe then unclipping the left hand pipe the whole unit can be drawn out and rested in the sink before sliding the pipes off the pump and flushing them out. A quick wipe of the pump and press of the button will check if it is still working or needs replacing.  After cleaning the tank out, if necessary, replace the pump assembly in the tank and test with a little fresh water.
