2019 Programme

We meet on the first Friday of every month at 9.55am for a prompt 10.00am start. Mileage is approximate and start points may differ from those stated in books.

Please check details prior to the walk, as weather conditions etc. may necessitate a change of arrangements

Next walk:

Friday 3rd May Castor   (4 miles) 

A walk around the eastern edge of Castor, then a circular route to the south of the village and back via Splash Dyke. Park in Castor, near the green, behind the Prince of Wales Feathers

Friday 7th June Long Walk   South Lincs Book   (5.5 miles) 

A walk from Greatford across the fields to Baston, and back via Wilsthorpe. Meet at the junction of Main Street and Greatford Road/Stowe Road (the last junction on the right heading out of Greatford towards Baston)

Friday  5th July Castle Bytham and Morkery Wood  - Active magazine  (approx 4.25 miles)  

A walk from castle Bytham towards Morkery Wood and back via Potter’s Hill. Parking to be confirmed nearer the time.

Friday 2nd August The Luffenhams -  Active magazine   (4 miles)    A triangular walk between the villages of North Luffenham, South Luffenham and Pilton. Parking arrangements to be confirmed nearer the time.

Friday 6th Sept. Around Ryhall   - Village Magazine   (4 miles)

A walk from Ryhall, heading towards the Careby Road, then past Ryhall Grange heading towards the Drift. A bridleway will bring us out on the Essendine Road before heading back through Ryhall.    Park in Ryhall near the Wicked Witch

Friday 4th October Yarwell Mill   Wansford Book  (3.5 miles) 

A walk from Yarwell to Nassington and back via the River Nene. An alternative walk from the same starting point is an option if wanted. (Village Book). An opportunity for coffee at the end of the walk at the coffee cabin. Park in the designated car park for Yarwell Country Park

Friday  1st Nov  Hambleton Peninsula   ( approx 4 miles)

A walk round Hambleton Peninsula, mainly on hard track. Park in Hambleton on the main road near the church.

Friday 6th Dec  Local walk 

A local walk from Uffington. Final route will be decided on the day. An opportunity to end the walking year with a coffee/lunch at the Bertie Arms. Meet at the Bertie at the usual time.
